About Us

The Mission

DECLARING the Grace of God.

DEMONSTRATING Loving Compassion.

DEVOTING Our Lives to Mission.

The Purpose

TO PROCLAIM the Word of God, in accordance with the Doctrinal Statement of the Northwest Bible Church constitution. TO LEAD souls to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior. TO DEVELOP the spiritual life and strengthen the Christian character of the believer. TO GIVE financial aid to and promote interest in missionary enterprises, both at home and in foreign fields.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Northwest Bible Church – WA based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.

God

There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God the Father, He is now our Mediator and Advocate.

The Holy Spirit

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and, during this age, to convict men of sin, create anew the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

Man

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and, as a result, is lost, and only through faith in Jesus Christ can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation

The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

The Return of Jesus Christ

The personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of every believer.

Future Events

There will be a bodily resurrection of all those who have died; believers to everlasting peace and joy with the Lord Jesus Christ; unbelievers to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment.

The Church

The Church is composed of all persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been made alive by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the head.

Leadership

Scott & Heidi Myers

Pastor

Pastor Scott & Heidi Myers are life-long Washingtonians, growing up in the North Seattle area. Their families both attended Berean Bible Church during their early years, and they were married at their home church in September of 1981. While they were involved in many of the ministries of their church (as youth sponsors, Sunday school teachers, singing in the choir, and on various boards), they stepped into full-time service when they came to Northwest Bible Church (NWBC) in the Spring of 1988.

They have been a part of this faith-community at NWBC for over twenty-five years and have raised their family in our Enumclaw community. They have four adult children (two daughters and two sons), all of whom are married and live in Enumclaw, and they have been blessed with eleven amazing grandchildren. Their desire is to continue to explore the freeing truths of God’s Word, allowing His grace to transform their lives, and to live as examples of kindness and graciousness to their wonderful community.

Sonja Mathews

Children’s Ministry Director

Sonja has lived in Enumclaw since she was 12 years old. She and her husband Tony married in 2014, and lived in Seattle until 2017 when they decided to move back to Enumclaw because it’s a great place to raise a family! During that time they have grown to love the children of our community and want to create a space for them to grow in their faith and ask questions. The goal of their vision is to assist all children in deepening their understanding of God so when they graduate into adulthood, they would truly know and love God. They are committed to teaching the truth of the scriptures to all ages!
